The ammonium ISE + probe is a half-cell ion-selective electrode (ISE) .
This electrode features a sensor tip module built with a polymer membrane containing a specialized ammonium ionophore, designed specifically for selective ammonium ion detection in aqueous solutions. Each sensor module is color-coded to match probe module slots, ensuring quick identification and easy replacement. The probe’s mini electrode is replaceable, pressure-sealed connection design facilitates a fast and secure setup.
The ammonium-selective electrode accurately measures ammonium ions, which coexist in equilibrium with ammonia in solution. Since this equilibrium is sensitive to pH and temperature, simultaneous pH and ammonium measurements are recommended for precise monitoring. High ammonium levels can negatively impact ecosystems, drinking water, and aquaculture, making continuous ammonium monitoring crucial.
Typical Applications for Ammonium Monitoring:
- Environmental water quality testing
- Drinking water treatment facilities
- Aquaculture and fisheries
- Agricultural runoff and fertilizer management
Regular ammonium monitoring is key to protecting water quality and ensuring the health of aquatic environments.
Note: This electrode requires a separate reference electrode for accurate operation.
