Probe + Ammonium ISE are a half-cell (reference not integrated) ion selective electrode (ISE) with a robust body, solid-state PVC (polymer) membrane selective to Ammonium ions in solution.
The Ammonium ion-selective electrode is used to measure Ammonium ions in aqueous solutions.
Ammonium is present in water in equilibrium with Ammonia. The Ammonium-Ammonia equilibrium depends on temperature and pH. That is why it is important to measure Ammonium ION together with pH levels.
High concentrations of Ammonium can have negative effects on natural waters, drinking water or aquaculture, to name but a few. Therefore, the ammonium determination in water is of high interest in many applications.
Examples where to apply Ammonium control:
- Waste water
- Well water
- Aquaponic Systems
- Irrigation solutions
- Fertilizers
- Aquaculture
- Soil
- Ammonia equilibrium
- N-NH4+
IMPORTANT NOTE: Calibration standards are essential to create the calibration curve on Ammonium ion sensors.
