NT Sensors has developed solid-state ion-selective electrodes for on-site chemical analysis prior to full laboratory analysis. Solid state nanotechnology allows the miniaturisation of ISE, i.e. the determination of up to 10 parameters with only 2 probes, in the same volume of liquid as one parameter would be analysed.
The IMACIMUS Multi Ion instrument from NT Sensors analyses up to 10 parameters (pH, Cl, NO3-, NH4+, Ca2+, Mg2+, K+, Na+, hardness and conductivity) in one measurement in only 60 seconds.
Thanks to NT Sensors’ multi-ion solutions, all 10 parameters are calibrated at the same time with only three calibration points.

Example of typical applications of ESI:
Chemical condition sensors such as pH, EC (electrical conductivity) and nutrient soluble ions such as nitrates, chlorides, ammonium, magnesium, potassium, calcium and sodium are the new tools of precision agriculture. However, nutrients cannot be analysed directly from the soil, requiring a separation of the sample and the soil. This requires the use of a vacuum probe that extracts soluble nutrients from the soil and then be determined by multi-parametric readers such as the IMACIMUS kit.
For validation, NT Sensors carried out a comparative report with results obtained in four different laboratories that analysed the same sample using the IMACIMUS kit. They concluded that, although there are variations in the analyses between the laboratories and the equipment evaluated, the differences are not significant.
